Revive sauna buying guide
Revive traditional saunas, heated by an electric Harvia Vega heater with sauna stones, come in two sizes: two-person and four-person. The four-person model can also take a covered deck extension, attached in one listing (the Extension Kit) or as an add-on (the Deck Extension). This guide compares their heaters, sizes, electrical service, placement and setup, from each product page. Sauna Republic is an authorized Revive dealer.

The saunas, model by model
Revive 2 Person Traditional Sauna

The 2 Person seats up to two on two-tier benches with reclined backrests. Its base measures 46.77" W × 39.76" D and its roof 61.81" W × 57.87" D, and it stands 81.66" high at the front; Revive's spec sheet gives a larger sauna, so we confirm exact dimensions with your quote. For more than two bathers, or to add the covered deck, which isn't offered for the 2 Person, choose the 4 Person.
Its Harvia Vega heater, model BC35E, is rated at 3.5 kW with sauna stones included, and the sauna reaches up to 194°F. The touchscreen control panel and Wi-Fi app offer remote control, scheduled start times and preheating; Revive publishes no heat-up time for this model, so we confirm the expected heat-up time with your quote.
The structure is thermo-treated hemlock with a natural tung oil exterior finish, pre-assembled insulated wall and roof panels, a tempered glass door and a roofing kit for outdoor use. Inside are adjustable LED lighting, which Revive's spec sheet describes as color-changing, and Bluetooth speakers.
It needs a dedicated 240V, 20-amp circuit for its NEMA 6-20P plug, which is on a 100" cord from the control box. Place it on a firm, level surface; on a deck, balcony or upper floor, plan a solid, level base that can carry the sauna (230 lbs per Revive's spec sheet) plus its bathers, and have that surface checked by a qualified professional before you install it.
Revive 4 Person Traditional Sauna

The 4 Person seats up to four on a two-tier L-shaped bench with reclined backrests and a removable right-side bench. Its base measures 70.40" W × 67.32" D and its roof 86.2" W × 83.03" D, it stands 82" high at the front, and it has a glass front and door.
Its Harvia Vega BC80E heater is an 8 kW wall-mounted unit with a stainless steel finish and about 20 kg (44 lb) of stones, per Revive's spec sheet. Revive's product page says it "reaches up to 194 degrees in only 15 minutes"; actual heat-up time depends on the starting temperature, outdoor conditions and the temperature you set.
It shares the 2 Person's thermo-treated hemlock, pre-assembled insulated panels, LED lighting and Bluetooth speakers, with a natural tung oil finish and aluminum-alloy roofing panels. Revive's spec sheet lists passive drainage through a vent beneath the heater, so it needs no floor drain (for an indoor installation, tell us about the floor), and no plumbing is required.
Power is a dedicated 240V, 50-amp circuit; the spec sheet gives the heater's current as about 33–36 A at 240V. Revive lists a NEMA 6-50P plug type while its spec sheet shows the heater hardwired, so we confirm the connection with your quote. The sheet lists 1,590 lbs assembled: plan a solid, level base that can carry it plus its bathers, and have a deck, balcony or upper floor checked by a qualified professional before you install it. Indoors, the ceiling must clear 82".
Revive 4 Person Traditional Sauna with Extension Kit

This listing is the 4 Person sauna with Revive's covered deck extension attached beside it in matching wood and roof materials, a covered space Revive describes as room for a cold plunge, workout gear or a relaxation area; the sauna keeps the same bench, seating up to four. Its 8 kW Harvia heater (Revive lists the Harvia Vega BC80E for its 4 Person sauna) reaches up to 194°F. Revive lists Bluetooth speakers with its standalone 4 Person Traditional Sauna, but its page for this configuration doesn't, so we confirm them with your quote.
Revive's Extended 4 Person sheet lists a NEMA 6-50P plug on a 100" cord from the control box for the dedicated 240V, 50-amp circuit, while its 4 Person sheet shows the heater hardwired; we confirm the connection with your quote. Revive's Extension Kit page drawing gives a 155" × 83.03" roof, a 145.1" × 67.31" base, an 82" front height and a 74.71" interior width for the covered space, whose depth Revive doesn't publish; the Extended 4 Person sheet gives 155" × 86.2", 145.6" × 70.8" and 82.1". The weight is 1,390 or 1,590 lbs, as Revive's spec sheets differ. Plan for the larger figures; we confirm exact dimensions with your quote.
We list it as an outdoor sauna with a covered deck. Revive designs the sauna for indoor or outdoor use and presents the deck extension as part of an outdoor setup; we confirm any indoor placement, and the deck's assembly time and coverage, with your quote. Plan a solid, level base for the full footprint that can carry the sauna plus its bathers and any filled plunge on the deck with its bather, and have a deck, balcony or upper floor checked by a qualified professional before you install it.
Revive 4 Person Traditional Sauna Deck Extension

The Deck Extension attaches to the side of the 4 Person sauna, sold separately: a roof, a paneled back wall, a wood floor and a corner post in hemlock with a natural oil finish matching the sauna. Revive suggests the covered space for a cold plunge, workout gear or a lounge area. It can be ordered with the sauna or added later, and Revive shows it on the sauna's right side; for the other side, we confirm the options with your quote, and for a sauna that is already installed, the fit and assembly steps.
Revive gives an interior width of about 74.7" (74.71" on its 4 Person spec sheet) but no usable depth: this product's drawing marks 70.8" front to back across the deck floor, its figure for the whole base, back wall included. With the sauna, Revive's drawings give the same two sets of overall figures as the Extension Kit; plan for the larger, and we confirm exact dimensions with your quote.
Revive publishes no weight, floor load rating or assembly time for it; we confirm the assembly time, shipping weight, included hardware and any indoor placement with your quote. Plan a solid, level base rated for the sauna and its bathers plus a filled plunge and its bather, and have a deck, balcony or upper floor checked by a qualified professional before you install it.
Harvia heaters and controls
Both sizes use a Harvia Vega heater with sauna stones included, rated for 220–240V single-phase power, and reach up to 194°F: the Harvia Vega heater, model BC35E, at 3.5 kW in the Revive 2 Person sauna, and the Harvia Vega BC80E at 8 kW in the Revive 4 Person sauna. See also our Harvia sauna heaters buying guide.

Each sauna includes a bucket and ladle for pouring water over the stones, a thermometer-hygrometer and a sand timer. A touchscreen control panel and the Wi-Fi app give remote control, with scheduling listed for the 2 Person and the 4 Person; the LED lighting is color-changing per Revive's spec sheet, and Bluetooth speakers are listed for both (for the Extension Kit, we confirm them with your quote). For running costs, see how much electricity a sauna heater uses.

Get PricingElectrical service
Each Revive sauna needs its own dedicated 240V circuit: 20 amps for the 2 Person and its NEMA 6-20P plug, and 50 amps for the 4 Person (its spec sheet gives the heater's current as about 33–36 A at 240V) and the Extension Kit. For both, Revive's documents show either a NEMA 6-50P plug or a hardwired heater, so we confirm the connection with your quote. Revive lists no electrical requirement for the Deck Extension.
Final wiring must meet local electrical code and be completed by a licensed electrician; our installer and electrician directory can help you find one. Requirements for outdoor structures and electrical work vary by location, so check with your local building department before installation; your electrician can advise on permits for the 240V circuit. A cold plunge needs a second dedicated circuit, as our Revive sauna and cold plunge combos guide explains.
Placement, size and assembly
Revive designs the 2 Person and the 4 Person for indoor or outdoor use, with a roofing kit for outdoor installation; it presents the deck extension as an outdoor addition, so we confirm any indoor placement of it with your quote, and our indoor vs outdoor sauna guide compares the settings. Start with a firm, level surface, and on a deck, balcony, rooftop or upper floor, plan a solid, level base that can carry the sauna plus its bathers, and have that surface checked by a qualified professional before you install it.
Indoors, the ceiling must clear 81.66" for the 2 Person (we confirm its exact dimensions with your quote) and 82" for the 4 Person, relevant to a sauna in the garage; for the 4 Person, which drains passively through a vent beneath the heater per Revive's spec sheet, tell us about the floor and we confirm the details with your quote. Outdoors, Revive says the natural tung oil finish protects the hemlock from rot and decay (our guide to sauna woods covers thermo-treated wood), but its warranty excludes damage from rain, snow, excessive moisture, direct sun, freezing or other outdoor conditions beyond intended use.
Revive says two people can assemble either sauna in about 2–3 hours, since the wall and roof panels arrive pre-assembled, and we confirm the deck extension's assembly time with your quote. We supply the sauna and coordinate its delivery; assembly and the electrical connection are arranged locally, and our installation directory lists contractors and electricians near you.
The covered deck and a cold plunge
Revive pairs its 4 Person sauna and covered deck with five Revive plunges in its Fire and Ice combos: the Revive Luxury Plunge, Revive Acrylic Plunge, Revive Inflatable Plunge, Revive Inflatable Barrel Plunge and Revive Inflatable Pod Plunge; its photos show the 72"-long Luxury and its step under the deck. Revive publishes no load rating for the deck floor, and its plunges' filled weights at the recommended fill, before the bather (and any external chiller), run from about 529 lbs (Pod, 60 gallons) to about 1,277 lbs (Luxury, 110 gallons, built-in chiller included). Plan a solid, level base rated for the sauna and its bathers plus a filled plunge and its bather, and have a deck, balcony or upper floor checked by a qualified professional before you install it.

Fit depends on the tub, the chiller and step, and the 24" of clearance Revive specifies in front of its chillers' fans, so we confirm the fit and layout for your plunge with your quote. The Acrylic Plunge's 72.8" tub leaves about 1.9" of the deck's 74.71" interior width. The 75" hexagonal tub of the Revive Inflatable Party Plunge is too large for the deck, and Revive doesn't pair the Party Plunge with it.
Our Revive sauna and cold plunge combos guide compares the 15 Fire and Ice combos, each one page and one quote, and the Fire and Ice collection lists them; our guide to Revive Plunge cold plunges covers each plunge, and Contrast Therapy at Home covers alternating the two.
Warranty, delivery and buying
Revive covers its saunas with a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty on electrical components and a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty on structural components, from the date of delivery, against defects in materials or workmanship. Its policy excludes normal wear and tear (Revive notes that surface cracks, minor splits and checking are normal characteristics of wood), accessories and consumables, improper installation, and outdoor conditions beyond intended use. Claims are opened with Revive's support team, and as an authorized Revive dealer, we help you through the process.
Frequently asked questions
How hot does a Revive sauna get?
Up to 194°F on all three. Revive's page says the 4 Person's 8 kW heater "reaches up to 194 degrees in only 15 minutes"; actual heat-up time depends on the starting temperature, outdoor conditions and your set temperature. For the 2 Person, we confirm the expected heat-up time with your quote.
What electrical service does a Revive sauna need?
A dedicated 240V circuit: 20 amps for the 2 Person, with its NEMA 6-20P plug, and 50 amps for the 4 Person and the Extension Kit, where Revive's documents show either a NEMA 6-50P plug or a hardwired heater, so we confirm the connection with your quote.
How many people fit in a Revive sauna?
Up to two in the 2 Person, on two-tier benches with reclined backrests, and up to four in the 4 Person and the 4 Person with Extension Kit, on a two-tier L-shaped bench with reclined backrests and a removable right-side bench.
Can a Revive sauna be installed indoors?
Yes for the 2 Person and the 4 Person, which Revive designs for indoor or outdoor use, if your ceiling clears their 81.66" or 82" front height; for the 2 Person, we confirm exact dimensions with your quote. Revive presents the deck extension as an outdoor addition, so for the Extension Kit or Deck Extension we confirm an indoor placement with your quote.
How long does a Revive sauna take to assemble?
Revive says two people can assemble the 2 Person or the 4 Person in about 2–3 hours, since the wall and roof panels arrive pre-assembled. Revive publishes no assembly time for the deck extension, so we confirm it with your quote.
Does a Revive sauna need plumbing?
No plumbing is required for any of the three saunas, and the 4 Person needs no floor drain: Revive's spec sheet says a vent beneath the heater lets excess water exit when steam is generated. Tell us about the floor for an indoor installation, and we confirm the details with your quote.
What heater does a Revive sauna use?
A Harvia Vega with sauna stones: the Harvia Vega heater, model BC35E, at 3.5 kW in the 2 Person, and the Harvia Vega BC80E, an 8 kW wall-mounted heater, in the 4 Person. For the Extension Kit, Revive's page names an 8 kW Harvia, and Revive lists the Vega BC80E for its 4 Person sauna.
Can a cold plunge go under the Revive covered deck?
Revive pairs its 4 Person sauna and covered deck with its Luxury, Acrylic, Inflatable, Inflatable Barrel and Inflatable Pod plunges, and we confirm the fit and layout with your quote; the Party Plunge is too large. With no published load rating, plan a solid, level base rated for the sauna and its bathers plus a filled plunge and its bather, checked by a qualified professional before you install it.
Can I pay for a Revive sauna with HSA or FSA funds?
It can be, through Truemed. Choose Truemed at checkout to see whether you qualify to pay with HSA or FSA funds. This applies to the three saunas; we make no HSA/FSA claim for the Deck Extension. Our guide to buying a sauna with HSA/FSA funds explains the process.
Are there health precautions for using a sauna?
Sauna heat places stress on the body. If you have, or suspect you have, a medical condition, including a heart condition or high or low blood pressure, take medication or are pregnant, consult your physician before use. Don't use the sauna after alcohol or drugs, drink water, keep each session to 30 minutes or less, leave if you feel unwell, keep clear of the hot heater and stones, and don't leave children unsupervised. See our hydration and electrolytes guide and Contrast Therapy at Home.
