Frequently Asked Questions

What does this combo include?

The Revive 2 Person Traditional Sauna and the Revive Inflatable Barrel Plunge with your choice of chiller: 0.8 HP or 1 HP, which also heat the water, or 0.3 HP for cold-only use. Each unit comes with its own included items, listed under What's Included on this page.

How many people do they fit?

The sauna seats up to two people on two-tier benches with reclined backrests. The Inflatable Barrel Plunge is sized for one person: the barrel is 31.5" across and 43" high.

How much space do I need for both?

Plan for a sauna base up to 46.77" W × 43.3" D and a roof up to 62.6" W × 59" D, since Revive's drawings differ; it stands 81.66" high at the front. The plunge's barrel is 31.5" across, and the barrel and its inflatable step need 52" of floor depth together; leave room beside the barrel for the chiller (the 0.8 HP chiller measures 16" L × 18" W × 18" H, and Revive lists its 1 HP chiller at 15.5" × 20" × 23.3" H) and 24" of clearance in front of the chiller's fan. Leave a short, clear path between them, and we'll confirm exact dimensions and the layout with your quote.

What electrical service do they need?

Two dedicated circuits. The sauna needs a 240V, 20-amp circuit for its NEMA 6-20P plug, on a power cord that reaches 100" from the control box, and Revive notes that final wiring must comply with your local electrical code. The plunge's chiller needs a 120V, 15-amp circuit, and Revive lists its draw with the compressor running at 650 W (0.3 HP), 835 W (0.8 HP) or 1,350 W (1 HP), and 110 to 121 W with the compressor off. A licensed electrician can install both; our installer & electrician directory can help you find one.

Do they need plumbing?

No. Neither unit needs a plumbing connection. The chiller connects to the barrel with quick-connect hoses, and you fill the barrel from a garden hose. To drain it, pump the water out with the chiller, or connect a garden hose to the chiller's outlet hose with the hose adaptor from the starter kit and run it away from the barrel.

Can both units go outdoors?

Yes. Revive designs both for indoor or outdoor use. The sauna includes a roofing kit for outdoor installation, and its hemlock is finished on the exterior with natural tung oil, which Revive says protects it from rot and decay. Keep the plunge's insulated cover secured when it isn't in use, and have a deck or balcony checked by a qualified professional before you fill it. Both Revive warranties exclude damage from environmental exposure, including rain, snow, excessive moisture, direct sun and freezing conditions.

Can both units go indoors?

Yes. Set the sauna on a firm, level surface and check that your ceiling clears its 81.66" front height; we confirm exact dimensions with your quote. Place the plunge on a level surface rated for its filled weight plus the bather, have an upper floor checked by a qualified professional before you fill it, and leave 24" of clearance in front of the chiller's fan for ventilation.

How hot does the sauna get?

Up to 194°F, from its 3.5 kW Harvia Vega heater.

What heater does the sauna use?

A 3.5 kW Harvia Vega heater, model BC35E, rated for 220–240V single-phase power, with sauna stones included. You set it from the touchscreen control panel or the mobile app.

Can I pour water over the sauna stones?

Yes. Revive includes a bucket and ladle so you can pour water over the stones to steam up the sauna.

How cold does the Inflatable Barrel Plunge get?

It depends on the chiller. Revive rates the 1 HP chiller to 32°F, the 0.8 HP chiller to 35°F and the cold-only 0.3 HP chiller to 37°F.

Can the plunge heat the water?

Yes, with the 0.8 HP or 1 HP chiller, both of which heat the water as high as 107°F. The 0.3 HP chiller is cold-only. For warm soaks, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises that hot tub water should never exceed 104°F.

Which chiller should I choose?

Revive calls the 0.8 HP chiller its standard option: it covers 35°F to 107°F and includes ozone sanitation. The upgraded 1 HP chiller reaches 32°F with the same heating and ozone. For warm soaks, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises that hot tub water should never exceed 104°F. The 0.3 HP chiller suits cold-only use to 37°F. Tell us how cold you want your plunges and whether you want warm soaks, and we'll recommend the right one.

Is the plunge quiet?

Yes. Revive describes the chiller's cooling as ultra-fast and quiet.

What are the dimensions?

Revive's drawings of the sauna differ: one gives a 46.77" W × 39.76" D base and a 61.81" W × 57.87" D roof, another a 46.77" W × 43.3" D base and a 62.6" W × 59" D roof. It stands 81.66" high at the front and 78.39" at the rear. The Inflatable Barrel Plunge's barrel measures 31.5" in diameter and 43" high, and the inflatable step 20.5" × 20.5" × 16" H. The 0.8 HP chiller measures 16" L × 18" W × 18" H, and Revive lists its 1 HP chiller at 15.5" × 20" × 23.3" H. We confirm exact dimensions with your quote.

How much do they weigh?

Revive's spec sheet lists the sauna at 230 lbs. The Inflatable Barrel Plunge's barrel weighs 40 lbs and its 0.8 HP chiller 90 lbs, which makes the 130-lb total Revive lists; we confirm the 1 HP chiller's weight with your quote. Filled to the recommended 90 gallons, the barrel and water total about 791 lbs, or about 916 lbs at the 105-gallon maximum. We confirm the shipping weights and delivery method with your quote.

How long does setup take?

Revive says two people can assemble the sauna in about 2 to 3 hours, since its wall and roof panels arrive pre-assembled. The plunge's barrel inflates in about 15 minutes, according to Revive, and a dual-action air pump is included; then fill it, connect the chiller with the quick-connect hoses and plug it in, and allow time for the water to reach your set temperature.

Do you offer installation?

We supply the sauna and plunge and coordinate their delivery; assembly and the electrical connections are arranged locally. Our installation directory lists contractors and electricians near you.

What are they made of?

The sauna is thermo-treated hemlock, finished on the exterior with natural tung oil, with insulated wall and roof panels and a tempered glass door with a wood handle. The plunge's barrel is high-quality drop-stitch PVC with a UV-resistant exterior, and both the barrel and its inflatable cover are fully insulated.

What is thermo-treated wood?

Wood that has been heat-treated. Revive says the treatment gives the hemlock enhanced durability, stability and resistance to moisture.

Can I control them from my phone?

Yes. Through its mobile app, the sauna connects over Wi-Fi so you can control it remotely, customize your session settings, schedule start times and preheat it. Revive's Wi-Fi app lets you adjust the plunge's temperature and set a cooling schedule from anywhere, as long as you have the app and a stable internet connection, and the 0.8 HP and 1 HP chillers have a digital screen with touch controls; we confirm the 0.3 HP chiller's controls with your quote.

Does the sauna have lighting and sound?

The sauna has adjustable LED lighting, which Revive's spec sheet describes as color-changing, and high-quality Bluetooth speakers.

How long does the sauna take to heat up?

We confirm the expected heat-up time with your quote. The app lets you schedule start times and preheat the sauna, so it can be up to temperature when you're ready.

How is the plunge water kept clean?

Two-stage filtration, with a 20-micron cartridge filter and a washable metal mesh pre-filter, runs on every chiller. The 0.8 HP and 1 HP chillers add built-in ozone sanitation.

How often do the plunge's filters need cleaning?

Revive recommends cleaning the cartridge filter and the washable mesh pre-filter every four to six weeks, depending on use, and replacing the cartridge filter when necessary. The chiller should be drained and cleaned at least once a year; the product manual covers the details.

How do I sanitize the plunge's chiller before first use?

Revive suggests adding an oxidizer solution, such as Sirona Spa Care Oxidizer, to the barrel and running the chiller for 10 to 15 minutes, which helps ensure the water is clean and ready for use.

What comes in the plunge's starter kit?

A hose adaptor, four extra filters, four scum sponges, a skimmer net and a garden hose water filter.

Does the plunge come with a step?

Yes. Revive includes an inflatable step, 20.5" × 20.5" × 16" H, to help you climb in and out of the 43"-high barrel.

Does the plunge come with a cover?

Yes, an insulated inflatable cover with buckle straps. Keep it secured whenever the plunge isn't in use.

Is the plunge portable?

Yes. The barrel weighs 40 lbs, inflates in about 15 minutes, comes with a dual-action air pump and deflates for storage or transport in the included backpack storage bag. The 0.8 HP chiller weighs 90 lbs.

What if the plunge's barrel gets a puncture?

Revive includes a repair patch kit with the Inflatable Barrel Plunge.

Can I choose a different sauna or plunge?

Yes. We can price the 2 Person Traditional Sauna with any of Revive's plunges, and the Inflatable Barrel Plunge with Revive's 4 Person Traditional Sauna or its 4 Person Traditional Sauna with Extension Kit. Tell us which pairing you're considering.

Do I need a permit?

Requirements for outdoor structures and electrical work vary by location, so check with your local building department before installation. Your electrician can advise on permits for both circuits.

Can they be used commercially?

No. Revive designs the Inflatable Barrel Plunge for residential use, and Revive doesn't state a commercial rating for the sauna. For gyms, studios, spas and other commercial settings, ask us about the Revive Luxury Plunge, which Revive designs for residential or commercial use, and we'll confirm suitability and warranty terms with your quote.

What warranty does the sauna come with?

Revive covers its saunas with a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty on electrical components and a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty on structural components, from the date of delivery, against product or manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Revive decides whether an issue qualifies and repairs or replaces defective components at its discretion; replacement parts may be new, refurbished or reconditioned, and a repair or replacement doesn't extend the original term. Normal wear and tear isn't covered, including cosmetic changes, wood refinishing and the normal aging of wood; Revive notes that surface cracks, minor splits and checking are normal characteristics of wood as it expands and contracts, not defects. Accessories and consumables aren't covered, and neither are issues caused by improper installation or electrical connections; exposure to rain, snow, excessive moisture, direct sun, freezing or other outdoor conditions beyond intended use; lack of maintenance, neglect or misuse; unauthorized modifications or repairs; customer infrastructure issues; acts of nature; or improper storage or transportation after delivery. If an accessory arrives damaged or defective, Revive requires notice within 24–48 hours of delivery, so tell us right away. Damage from an excluded condition may void coverage at Revive's discretion, and Revive's liability is limited to repair or replacement. Revive's terms leave labor, electrician, material, service-call and transportation costs to the owner unless Revive approves them in writing in advance, and Revive may require the original components to be returned; not returning them can lead to denial of coverage or charges for replacement components. The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and isn't transferable. Claims are opened with Revive's support team, which may ask for photos or videos and for troubleshooting steps, and as an authorized Revive dealer, we help you through the process.

What warranty does the Inflatable Barrel Plunge come with?

Revive covers the Inflatable Barrel Plunge and its chiller with a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use, covering components such as the refrigeration system, pumps and internal plumbing, controls and electronics, and structural defects in the tub body or shell. Revive decides whether an issue qualifies and repairs or replaces defective components at its discretion; replacement parts may be new, refurbished or reconditioned, and a repair or replacement doesn't extend the original term. Normal wear and tear, cosmetic changes and the aging of materials aren't covered. Filters, accessories and consumables aren't covered, and neither are issues caused by improper installation or improper electrical or water connections; freezing or other environmental exposure, including rain, snow, excessive moisture and direct sun; poor water maintenance or lack of routine maintenance; electrical supply problems; neglect or misuse; unauthorized modifications or repairs; customer infrastructure issues; acts of nature; or improper storage or transportation after delivery. If an accessory arrives damaged or defective, Revive requires notice within 24–48 hours of delivery, so tell us right away. Damage from an excluded condition may void coverage at Revive's discretion, and Revive's liability is limited to repair or replacement. Revive's terms leave labor, electrician, plumbing, material, service-call and transportation costs to the owner unless Revive approves them in writing in advance, and Revive may require the original components to be returned; not returning them can lead to denial of coverage or charges for replacement components. Claims are opened with Revive's support team, which may ask for photos or videos and for troubleshooting steps, and as an authorized Revive dealer, we help you through the process.

How are they delivered?

Shipping is complimentary to the continental US; deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted separately. The sauna's wall and roof panels arrive pre-assembled. We confirm the delivery method and lead time with your quote.

What if it arrives damaged?

Inspect the shipment before signing, note any damage on the delivery receipt, and email photos to info@thesaunarepublic.com within 24 hours of delivery. We file the claim and replace damaged items at our expense.

Are there any health precautions?

Sauna heat and cold-water immersion both place stress on the body. If you have, or suspect you have, a medical condition, including a heart condition or high or low blood pressure, if you take medication, or if you're pregnant, consult your physician before use. Don't use the sauna after drinking alcohol or using drugs, drink water, keep each sauna session to 30 minutes or less, and leave the sauna if you feel unwell. The heater and stones get hot enough to burn, so keep clear of them, and don't leave children unsupervised in the sauna or near the plunge. If you choose a plunge chiller that heats, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises that hot tub water should never exceed 104°F. This product is not a substitute for medical care.

Sauna covers are made to order and ship separately, usually after the sauna.

Order cut-off — Orders placed after 8:00 AM EST are processed the next business day.

Monogrammed items — Allow an additional 3–5 business days of processing time. This applies to expedited orders as well.

PO Boxes, APO & FPO — Textile orders cannot be shipped to PO Boxes or to APO/FPO military addresses. Please provide a street address at checkout.

Mixed orders — If your order includes a sauna, cold plunge, heater, or accessory, the whole order ships free regardless of the textile subtotal.

Textile orders ship separately from sauna and cold plunge shipments and may arrive on a different date, even when purchased together.

How Freight Delivery Works

Large items (saunas, cold plunges, hot tubs, and most floor-standing heaters and wood-burning stoves) ship via LTL freight. Smaller items (wall-mounted heaters, accessories, wellness devices, Lumaflex, red light towers, robes and textiles) ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS.

1. We ship your order. Tracking is emailed to you with the estimated delivery timeline.

2. The carrier calls you. The freight company calls to schedule a delivery appointment with you from its available dates and time windows.

3. Curbside delivery. Delivery is to the curb via semi-truck with liftgate (when available). You'll need a plan to move it from the curb to its final location.

4. Sign and inspect. You must be present to sign. Inspect for damage before signing — note any issues on the delivery receipt.

Unloading Your Sauna

Unless inside delivery has been arranged in advance, the driver delivers to the curb only. You are responsible for moving the product to its final location. Have equipment and help arranged before delivery day.

Rent a forklift — Most common choice. Requires forklift extensions. ~$150–300/day.

Hire a tilt tow truck — Flatbed tow with tilt/slide functionality. ~$200–400.

Hire a rigging/moving crew — Professional movers with equipment. Get quotes in advance.

Tilt tow delivery (Dundalk only) — An alternative for sites where a forklift can't be used. Request it when you place your order; contact us for current pricing.

Inside delivery (Clearlight only) — Delivery into your garage, backyard, or a room of your choice, for an additional fee. It must be arranged before the sauna ships, and we'll ask for photos of the delivery path. The boxes are placed, not unpacked or assembled. Requests made after shipment cost more and depend on the carrier.

Clearlight saunas ship in flat panels, not pre-assembled crates. Most can be carried inside by two people without heavy equipment. Dundalk saunas ship in crates longer than 92" weighing 800–1,800 lbs. Liftgate service is not available for these shipments, and most require a forklift with fork extensions to unload.

Damage Claims

If your order arrives damaged, we'll get you a replacement as quickly as possible.

1. Inspect packaging for visible damage before signing.

2. Note damage on the delivery receipt, describing exactly what you see (for example, "crate corner crushed" or "panel scratched"), and have the driver sign. If the packaging is damaged but you can't inspect the contents, write "possible concealed damage" before signing.

3. Do not refuse the delivery unless we ask you to.

4. Take photos of packaging and product damage.

5. Email photos to info@thesaunarepublic.com with your order number within 24 hours.

6. We file the claim and ship your replacement.

Damage must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with photos. Claims filed after 24 hours may not be eligible for a free replacement. Always note visible damage on the delivery receipt — even if it seems minor.

Carriers & Address Info

We reserve the right to select the carrier for all shipments.

Small items (wall-mounted heaters, accessories, wellness devices, red light towers) — UPS or FedEx

Robes & textiles — FedEx Ground. Street addresses only, no PO Boxes or APO/FPO.

Large items (saunas, cold plunges, hot tubs, and most floor-standing heaters and wood-burning stoves) — LTL freight carriers

Lumaflex devices — UPS, FedEx, or USPS

Once large items ship, the delivery address cannot be changed, and the delivery appointment is arranged directly between you and the carrier. If an item is returned due to an incorrect address, you're responsible for shipping costs both ways. If freight delivery fails because the carrier couldn't access your property, it's treated as a return per our return policy.

Remote Areas & Special Locations

Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico — Contact Us Before Purchase

Free shipping does not apply to these locations (except Lumaflex — ships free nationwide). Contact us for a custom shipping quote before ordering. Orders placed without prior approval may be cancelled.

APO/FPO addresses: We ship most items to military addresses, subject to USPS restrictions. Additional fees may apply. Robes and textiles cannot be shipped to APO/FPO or PO Box addresses.

Remote/hard-to-reach areas: Additional fees may apply. We'll contact you before shipping if your location requires special arrangements.

1. Inspect the crate and packaging with the delivery driver present, before signing the bill of lading.

Concealed damage (not visible until unboxing) must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Missed delivery appointments may incur redelivery fees. If an undamaged, correct shipment is refused, return freight, redelivery, and storage charges are the customer's responsibility, and the order is treated as a return.

Payment Processing Fees

Applies to all refunds and cancellations initiated by the customer.

Processing Fees Are Not Returned to Us

When you pay by card, our payment processor charges a fee at the time of purchase. Under their terms, that fee is not returned to us when an order is later refunded — the cost stands whether or not the sale completes.

For any return or cancellation initiated by the customer, the processing fee charged on the original transaction is therefore deducted from the refund. This is currently 2.9% of the order total plus $0.30. It is not a fee we retain — it is a cost already paid to the processor.

Where a brand-specific restocking fee also applies, both are deducted.

No Processing Fee Is Deducted When the Fault Is Ours

Products that arrive damaged or defective.

Warranty claims.

Orders we cancel, or errors on our part.

Orders we are unable to fulfil.

Paying by Bank Transfer

Bank transfer and ACH payments carry no processing fee, so nothing is deducted if the order is later refunded. If you would prefer to pay this way, tell us before checkout and we will send a bank transfer invoice instead.

Backorder Cancellation

Orders containing backordered items are subject to a 6% cancellation fee as we are charged by our payment processor when backorders are cancelled. All lead times are estimates and subject to change.

HSA/FSA Purchases

Our standard return policy applies to all HSA/FSA purchases. Products with brand-specific exceptions follow those policies. There is no IRS requirement that HSA/FSA purchases be final sale.

HSA/FSA refunds are processed back to your original HSA/FSA card within 3–10 business days. Truemed cannot redirect refunds to a different payment method.

HSA holders: Notify your custodian to treat the original purchase as a "mistaken distribution" under IRS Notice 2004-50. Returned funds are not subject to income tax or penalties.

FSA holders: The refund goes back to your FSA plan via the original card. If your plan year has ended, the use-it-or-lose-it rule may apply. FSA holders should be especially sure of their purchase before buying.

Processing fees: HSA/FSA payments are processed by card and carry the same non-refundable processing fee described above.

Damage Claims

If your order arrives damaged, we will resolve it as quickly as possible.

1. Inspect packaging for visible damage before signing.

2. Note damage on delivery receipt — write "damaged" and have the driver sign.

3. Take photos of packaging and product damage.

4. Email photos to info@thesaunarepublic.com with your order number within 24 hours.

5. We handle the claim and arrange replacement.

Lumaflex products: Email photos within 24 hours and we arrange a replacement under the manufacturer warranty.

Revive Plunge products: Inspect the shipment and note any damage on the bill of lading before signing. Concealed damage must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. We report the damage to Revive Plunge and the carrier and coordinate the claim. See Revive Plunge policy for full details.

Description

Revive 2 Person Traditional Sauna & Inflatable Barrel Plunge: A Complete Hot and Cold Setup

This Fire and Ice combo pairs two Revive units for hot-and-cold contrast sessions at home: the Revive 2 Person Traditional Sauna and the Revive Inflatable Barrel Plunge, quoted and planned together. The sauna seats up to two people on two-tier benches, and its 3.5 kW Harvia Vega heater with sauna stones reaches up to 194°F. The Inflatable Barrel Plunge is a compact, portable, fully insulated drop-stitch PVC barrel with an external chiller: the 0.8 HP and 1 HP chillers cool and heat the water, and the 0.3 HP chiller is cold-only. Revive designs both units for indoor or outdoor use, both work with a Wi-Fi app, and neither needs plumbing.

The Sauna: Revive 2 Person Traditional Sauna

Revive builds the sauna from thermo-treated hemlock for enhanced durability, stability and resistance to moisture, and finishes the exterior with natural tung oil, which Revive says protects the structure from rot and decay and gives it a warm, inviting feel. Insulated wall and roof panels improve thermal efficiency and help maintain a consistent temperature through each session, and you enter through a tempered glass door with a wood handle. The 3.5 kW Harvia Vega heater, model BC35E, heats the sauna to as high as 194°F, and the included bucket and ladle let you pour water over the stones to steam it up.

The touchscreen control panel beside the door sets your session at the sauna, and through the mobile app the sauna connects over Wi-Fi so you can control it remotely, customize your session settings, schedule start times and preheat it to minimize wait times. Adjustable LED lighting, which Revive's spec sheet describes as color-changing, high-quality Bluetooth speakers and reclined backrests complete the interior, and Revive includes a thermometer and hygrometer and an hourglass sand timer. The wall and roof panels arrive pre-assembled, and a roofing kit is included for outdoor installation.

The Cold Plunge: Revive Inflatable Barrel Plunge

Revive offers the Inflatable Barrel Plunge with three chillers. The 0.8 HP chiller is Revive's standard choice: it cools the water to 35°F and heats it as high as 107°F. The upgraded 1 HP chiller cools to 32°F and also heats as high as 107°F. For warm soaks, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advises that hot tub water should never exceed 104°F. The 0.3 HP chiller is cold-only and cools to 37°F. With the 0.8 HP or 1 HP chiller, the same barrel serves for cold plunges and warm soaks. Revive says the barrel's compact size makes it ideal for smaller areas or limited storage: its footprint is a 31.5" circle, and the included inflatable step, 20.5" × 20.5" × 16" H, helps you climb in and out of the 43"-high barrel.

Two-stage filtration pairs a 20-micron cartridge filter with a washable metal mesh pre-filter, and the 0.8 HP and 1 HP chillers add built-in ozone sanitation. Revive recommends cleaning the filters every four to six weeks, depending on use, replacing the cartridge filter when necessary, and draining and cleaning the chiller at least once a year. Before first use, Revive suggests adding an oxidizer solution, such as Sirona Spa Care Oxidizer, to the barrel and running the chiller for 10 to 15 minutes. The 0.8 HP and 1 HP chillers have a digital touchscreen control (we confirm the 0.3 HP chiller's controls with your quote), and every chiller works with Revive's Wi-Fi app, which lets you adjust the temperature and set a cooling schedule from your phone, as long as you have a stable internet connection.

The barrel is made from high-quality drop-stitch PVC with a UV-resistant exterior and weighs 40 lbs, and both the barrel and its inflatable cover are fully insulated. It inflates in about 15 minutes, and a dual-action air pump is included. It deflates for storage or transport in the included backpack storage bag, and a repair patch kit comes with it. The cover fastens with buckle straps; keep it secured whenever the plunge isn't in use.

Planning Your Installation

Plan the space for both units together, with a short, clear path between them. Revive's drawings of the sauna differ: one gives a 46.77" W × 39.76" D base and a 61.81" W × 57.87" D roof, another a 46.77" W × 43.3" D base and a 62.6" W × 59" D roof, so plan for the larger footprint. It stands 81.66" high at the front and 78.39" at the rear, so check the height against your ceiling indoors. Allow a 31.5" circle for the plunge's barrel, which stands 43" high, and 52" of floor depth with the inflatable step in front of it, plus room beside it for the chiller: the 0.8 HP chiller measures 16" L × 18" W × 18" H, and Revive lists its 1 HP chiller at 15.5" × 20" × 23.3" H. Leave 24" of clearance in front of the chiller's fan. We confirm exact dimensions with your quote.

Each unit needs its own dedicated circuit. The sauna runs on a dedicated 240V, 20-amp circuit: it has a NEMA 6-20P plug on a power cord that reaches 100" from the control box, and Revive notes that final wiring must comply with your local electrical code. The plunge's chiller plugs into a dedicated 120V, 15-amp circuit, and Revive lists its draw with the compressor running at 650 W (0.3 HP), 835 W (0.8 HP) or 1,350 W (1 HP). A licensed electrician can install both circuits, including a NEMA 6-20R receptacle for the sauna. Neither unit needs plumbing: the chiller connects to the barrel with quick-connect hoses, and you fill the barrel from a garden hose; to drain it, pump the water out with the chiller, or connect a garden hose to the chiller's outlet hose with the hose adaptor from the starter kit.

Set the sauna on a firm, level surface; Revive's spec sheet lists it at 230 lbs. The plunge's barrel weighs 40 lbs and its 0.8 HP chiller 90 lbs, which makes the 130-lb total Revive lists. Filled to the recommended 90 gallons, the barrel and water total about 791 lbs (about 916 lbs at the 105-gallon maximum), so place it on a level surface rated for that load plus the bather, and have a balcony, deck or upper floor checked by a qualified professional before you fill it. Two people can assemble the sauna in about 2 to 3 hours with its pre-assembled panels, and the plunge's barrel inflates in about 15 minutes, after which you fill it, connect the chiller with its quick-connect hoses and plug it in.

Using the Sauna and Plunge Together

For hot-and-cold contrast sessions, keep robes and towels near the path between the two units. Keep the plunge's insulated cover secured whenever it isn't in use. Sauna heat and cold-water immersion both place stress on the body, so if you have a medical condition, take medication or are pregnant, consult your physician before use.

Revive backs the sauna with a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty on electrical components and on structural components, and the Inflatable Barrel Plunge with a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty, each from the date of delivery against defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty claims are opened with Revive's support team, and as an authorized Revive dealer, we help you through the process.

HSA/FSA: Everything You Need to Know

Answers based on IRS guidance, Truemed documentation, and real-world HSA/FSA administrator practices.

Eligibility & Qualification
How do I know if I qualify to use HSA/FSA?
Eligibility is determined on a per-customer basis, not by product. When you select the HSA/FSA option on your invoice, you'll complete a short health assessment through Truemed. An independent licensed practitioner reviews your responses and, if your health situation qualifies, issues a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). Not every customer will qualify — the practitioner makes the final determination based on clinical criteria. If you don't qualify, you can still purchase using standard payment methods.
What health conditions typically qualify?
Common qualifying conditions include chronic pain, arthritis, cardiovascular concerns, muscle recovery needs, stress/anxiety management, sleep disorders, chronic inflammation, and metabolic conditions. The key requirement under IRS rules is that the purchase must be primarily for treating, preventing, or mitigating a specific diagnosed medical condition. General wellness, relaxation, or athletic performance goals do not qualify. The licensed practitioner makes the final determination based on your individual health assessment.
What products are eligible for HSA/FSA?
Truemed reviews and approves individual products through its compliance team. If a product is eligible, the "Pay with HSA/FSA" option will appear on your invoice automatically — you don't need to request it. If the option isn't showing on your invoice, that product hasn't been approved. Eligibility can change as Truemed reviews new products, so ask us if an item you're interested in isn't currently showing the HSA/FSA option.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds on accessories or other products beyond a sauna?
Your Letter of Medical Necessity can cover multiple products and product categories. If the Truemed HSA/FSA option appears on your invoice for a product, it has been reviewed and approved by Truemed's compliance team. The same process applies to all eligible products — select "Pay with HSA/FSA" on the invoice and complete the health assessment.
How to Pay
Can I use my HSA debit card directly?
Yes. HSA debit cards work at most merchant categories with minimal scrutiny at the point of sale. Your HSA administrator processes the charge like any debit transaction — they see the merchant name and total amount, but not individual line items. Select "Pay with HSA/FSA" on your invoice and enter your HSA card details. Keep your Letter of Medical Necessity on file in case of an IRS audit.
Can I use my FSA debit card directly?
We recommend paying with a regular credit card and submitting for reimbursement instead. FSA cards frequently decline at non-medical merchant categories, and FSA administrators are required by law to substantiate every claim — unlike HSA administrators, they actively review whether each purchase qualifies. The most reliable process for FSA holders: pay your invoice with a regular credit card through the Truemed option, receive your LMN, then submit your receipt and LMN to your FSA administrator for reimbursement.
Can I split payment between HSA/FSA and a regular card?
Yes. Truemed supports split payments. You can pay part of the purchase with your HSA/FSA card and the remainder with a regular credit or debit card. You can also pay the full amount with a credit card and submit for partial reimbursement — for example, reimburse $3,400 from your FSA and pay the rest out of pocket. This is especially useful when your account balance is lower than the product price.
How does the reimbursement process work?
If you pay with a regular credit or debit card: select the Truemed option on your invoice, complete the health survey, receive your Letter of Medical Necessity (usually within 24-48 hours), then submit your purchase receipt along with the LMN to your HSA/FSA administrator. Most administrators process claims within a few days. The specific steps and timeline vary by plan — check with your HR department or plan provider for their submission process.
HSA vs FSA: Key Differences
What's the difference between HSA and FSA for purchases?
HSA (Health Savings Account): You own the account. Funds roll over year to year and never expire. Requires a high-deductible health plan. HSA administrators generally do not review individual purchases at the point of sale — the account holder is responsible for ensuring expenses qualify. In an IRS audit, you'd need to produce your LMN and purchase records.

FSA (Flexible Spending Account): Your employer sponsors the account. Funds typically expire at the end of the plan year, though some plans allow a small carryover or grace period. FSA administrators must substantiate every claim and actively review whether purchases qualify. This makes FSA claims more likely to be scrutinized.

Bottom line: HSA is generally smoother for high-ticket purchases. FSA works but requires more careful documentation and the reimbursement pathway is safer than direct card use.
What are the 2026 HSA and FSA contribution limits?
HSA: $4,400 individual, $8,750 family, plus $1,000 catch-up if 55+. HSA funds roll over indefinitely.

FSA: $3,400 per year. Most FSA plans follow a use-it-or-lose-it rule — some allow a $640 carryover or a 2.5-month grace period.

If your purchase exceeds your available balance, you can split payment or pay with a credit card and submit for partial reimbursement.
My FSA funds expire soon — can I still use them?
Yes, and this is one of the smartest uses of expiring FSA dollars. If you have unused FSA funds approaching your plan year deadline, purchasing an eligible product puts those pre-tax dollars to work rather than forfeiting them. Check your plan's exact expiration date with your HR department. For next year, open enrollment is typically October through November — you can increase your FSA election if you're planning a larger purchase.
After Your Purchase
What is the return policy for HSA/FSA purchases?
Our standard return policy applies to all HSA/FSA purchases — there is no "final sale" restriction. No IRS rule requires HSA/FSA purchases to be final sale. If you need to return a product, the refund is processed back to your original HSA/FSA card within 3-10 business days.

For HSA holders returning a product: Once the refund hits your HSA, the original purchase is no longer a qualified medical expense. You can notify your HSA custodian to treat it as a "mistaken distribution" under IRS Notice 2004-50. Funds returned this way are not subject to income tax or the 20% penalty, and they don't count against your annual contribution limit. The deadline to report this is April 15 following the year you learned of the return. Most HSA custodians accept mistaken distributions, though they are not required to.

For FSA holders returning a product: The refund goes back to your FSA plan via the original card. If your plan year has already ended, the use-it-or-lose-it rule may apply — returned funds could be forfeited to the employer plan rather than credited back to you. FSA holders should be especially sure of their purchase before buying.

Our team is available before and after purchase to help you choose the right product.
What happens if my claim is denied by my plan administrator?
A claim denial does not affect your purchase with Sauna Republic. You already own the product and we already have your payment. The denial is a matter between you and your HSA/FSA plan — it does not create a reversal or chargeback against your order.

Step 1 — Contact Truemed. Email support@truemed.com with your denial notice, the reason given, and any codes provided. Truemed's team will work with their Medical Group to rewrite your LMN to meet your administrator's specific requirements. Truemed reports overturning the majority of denied claims through this process.

Step 2 — Resubmit. Submit the updated LMN to your administrator.

If the appeal fails: Truemed's Terms of Service include a discretionary provision where they may offer approximately 30% of the purchase price to offset your lost tax savings. This is Truemed's payment to you directly — it is not charged to or deducted from your order. This payment is at Truemed's sole discretion and is not guaranteed.

Common denial reasons: Missing or incomplete LMN, LMN dated after the purchase, an invoice mixing eligible and ineligible items, or the administrator requiring a specific form.
What if my administrator asks me to repay my HSA/FSA?
This can happen if your administrator determines the purchase was not a qualified medical expense after the transaction has already processed. The administrator asks you (the account holder) to repay the plan — this does not affect the merchant or your product order.

For HSA: If you repay the amount, your HSA custodian may process it as a return of a mistaken distribution. You would not owe income tax or the 20% penalty on the repaid amount.

For FSA: Your employer or TPA will typically deduct the amount from future paychecks or require direct repayment. FSA administrators have strong enforcement incentives because the employer's entire cafeteria plan could lose its tax-favored status if it reimburses non-qualified expenses.

We recommend working through the Truemed appeal process first — most denied claims can be resolved with an updated LMN before repayment becomes necessary.
Can I use my LMN for future purchases?
Yes. Your Letter of Medical Necessity is valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. During that period, you do not need to complete the health survey again for additional eligible purchases. You still need to submit each new receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement. After 12 months, you would need a new health assessment through Truemed.
What if my HSA/FSA account is closed after my purchase?
If you need a refund and your HSA/FSA account has been closed, the refund still posts to that account. You'll need to work directly with your former plan administrator to retrieve the funds — Truemed cannot redirect refunds to a different payment method. This is a compliance requirement enforced by both IRS rules and the payment processor. Confirm your account is in good standing before purchasing.
Tax & IRS Considerations
What happens if the IRS audits my HSA/FSA purchase?
In an audit, you would need to demonstrate that the expense was a qualified medical expense. Your key documentation: (1) your Letter of Medical Necessity, (2) your purchase receipt, and (3) any correspondence with your HSA/FSA administrator. Keep these records for at least 3 years from your tax return filing date.

For HSA purchases, the account holder bears full responsibility for ensuring expenses qualify — HSA administrators do not police purchases. For FSA purchases, your administrator has already substantiated the claim, which provides additional documentation.

The audit risk is on the account holder, not the merchant. Sauna Republic has no IRS reporting obligations related to your HSA/FSA payment.
What are the penalties for a non-qualified HSA distribution?
If an HSA distribution is determined not to be a qualified medical expense, the account holder owes income tax on the full amount plus a 20% additional tax penalty. For example, on an $8,000 non-qualified distribution at a 30% marginal rate, you would owe approximately $2,400 in income tax plus a $1,600 penalty — roughly $4,000 total. This underscores the importance of having a legitimate medical condition and a properly issued LMN. The 20% penalty does not apply if you are 65 or older, disabled, or if the distribution is returned as a mistaken distribution before the filing deadline.
Has the IRS said anything about using HSA/FSA for wellness equipment?
In March 2024, the IRS issued an alert (IR-2024-65) reminding taxpayers that general health and wellness expenses do not qualify for HSA/FSA unless prescribed to treat a specific diagnosed condition. The IRS cautioned that documentation based solely on self-reported health information may not meet legal requirements. No enforcement actions against consumers or merchants have been publicly reported, but the alert signals increased scrutiny.

This is why Truemed's health assessment involves a licensed practitioner making a clinical determination — not a rubber-stamp process. We encourage customers to be thorough and honest in the health assessment.
General Questions
How long does the Truemed approval process take?
Most health assessments are reviewed within 24-48 hours. Once approved, you'll receive your LMN via email and your order processes immediately. If you don't see it in your inbox, check spam, then contact support@truemed.com.
What if I don't qualify for an LMN?
You can still purchase any product using standard payment methods — credit card, debit card, Shop Pay, or financing options. Not qualifying for HSA/FSA does not prevent you from buying. You may reapply at a later date if your health circumstances change.
Are there any fees for using Truemed?
There is no additional fee charged to you. The cost of the health assessment and LMN is included in the transaction. You pay the same product price whether you use HSA/FSA funds or a regular payment method.
Can I still get complimentary shipping with HSA/FSA?
Yes. Complimentary shipping and standard Sauna Republic promotions apply regardless of payment method. HSA/FSA customers receive the same benefits as every other customer. Note that promotional offers vary by brand — some manufacturers restrict bundled promotions on their products.
