Ultrasonic cool mist — how the technology works
The AROMA ONE uses a vibrating ultrasonic membrane at the base of the water reservoir. The membrane pulses at a frequency above the range of human hearing. Water and essential oil sitting on top of the membrane get fragmented into microscopic droplets by the vibration and rise as a visible cool mist that distributes evenly into the surrounding air.
The important word in that description is "cool." Heat-based diffusers — the old style of tealight-under-a-dish aromatherapy, or some modern nebulizing diffusers that use warmth — degrade the aromatic compounds in essential oils during the heating process. Ultrasonic diffusion preserves the oil's original chemical profile by never applying heat at all. The AROMA ONE pulls the same trick every ultrasonic diffuser pulls, and it's the right approach for aromatherapy specifically.
Add distilled or filtered water to the 60ml tank, drop in 5 to 7 drops of your chosen essential oil, press the single button, and the device runs until the tank is empty. The cyan LED breathing pattern indicates normal operation. When the water runs out, the LED switches to a blinking pattern — no beep, no harsh sound, just a visual cue that it is time for a refill.
Mounting and using the AROMA ONE inside your Clearlight sauna
Mount the AROMA ONE on the interior wall of your Clearlight sauna using the included wall mount and three screws. Clearlight's recommended placement is on a side wall above bench height — close enough that the mist reaches you during the session, and clear of the heater panels.
The mount fixes to the wall vertically. The diffuser then clips down onto it and lifts off again without tools, which is how you take it out for refilling.
If you are running it from the USB-C cable, the unit needs to reach a power source, which means either a nearby outlet or routing the cable out of the cabin. If you have added the optional battery, it runs untethered for roughly 2 to 2.5 hours per charge — enough for two to three standard sessions before recharging. The cordless option is what most owners choose for exactly this reason.
Do not overfill the tank. Maximum capacity is 60 ml and there is a max line inside the reservoir. Filling above that line will prevent the unit from turning on at all — which reads like a fault but isn't.
Never charge the battery inside the sauna. Remove the battery from the diffuser and charge it outside the cabin, at room temperature.
Respect the temperature ceiling. Clearlight specify a maximum of 150°F when running plugged in without the battery, and 140°F when running on the battery. Using the battery above 140°F may degrade its performance over time. If you run your sauna hot, the plugged-in configuration gives you more headroom.
Fill and recharge in a dry, room-temperature space. Pull the AROMA ONE off the mount, add water and oil in a kitchen or bathroom, and snap it back into place before your session.
For Curve Dome owners, the AROMA ONE sits on any flat surface within reach of the session — the dome doesn't have interior walls to mount to, but the small footprint means it fits naturally on a side table or the edge of the mat area. Essential oils for sauna — what works, what doesn't

That said, certain oils are conventionally paired with sauna sessions for specific sensory effects.
A safety note. Pregnant women, elderly users, young children, and individuals with asthma, chronic respiratory conditions, or known essential oil sensitivities should consult a physician before using any aromatherapy device. Certain essential oils (wintergreen, eucalyptus in high concentrations, pennyroyal, sage) are contraindicated for specific populations.
