No. That's only required for heaters 12 kW and above; the UKU main module handles up to 11 kW directly, so a 9 kW heater runs on the controller alone.

240V single phase, drawing 37.5 amps. It's hardwired — no plug. That's a substantial circuit and the first thing to resolve before ordering.

Check before you buy. A 37.5 amp load is a meaningful fraction of a typical 200-amp domestic service. Get an electrician to assess your panel first — that assessment costs very little and can save you an expensive mistake.

Yes, any licensed electrician can. Give them the manual and the load figures before they quote rather than after — the UKU controller wiring is part of the same job.

5–10 cm, the same as the CORE. Note the CLIFF range takes smaller 1"–2" (3–5 cm) stones — they aren't interchangeable, so check the model before ordering.

Only proper sauna stones in the specified size. Never river rock, granite, or decorative landscape stone — ordinary rock can crack or explode when water hits it at temperature.

Rinse them first, then stack loosely so air moves freely between them — never wedged tight or forced around the elements. The manual shows the correct arrangement, and on a rounded heater the stacking pattern is part of the look as well as the function.

Inspect them once a year. They break down with repeated heating and cooling, and crumbling stones choke airflow through the heater. Restack as they settle, replace when they start falling apart.

The stones sit directly against the heating elements rather than being separated by a shield. Heat transfers into the stone mass more efficiently, which is what gives the heater its steam response when you ladle water.

By design. More exposed stone gives a longer, milder heat — the warmth comes off the stone mass rather than radiating hard off metal. It's a softer sauna than a heater with the stones enclosed.

One step down in output for smaller rooms, on a lighter circuit. Same design and same wall-mounted format. If your room is under 282 cubic feet, the smaller DROP is the right choice and cheaper to wire.

Same output, entirely different objects. The CLIFF is a tall floor-standing column carrying 165 lbs of stone with exceptionally tight clearances. The DROP is a wide, low wall-mounted sculpture carrying 122 lbs. The CLIFF is the better answer if floor space is free and clearances are tight; the DROP is the better answer if you want the room to look different.

The CORE is floor-standing, can be embedded into a bench, and carries 66 lbs of stone. The DROP is wall-mounted with nearly double the stone and a deliberately sculptural shape. Both are 9 kW at 37.5 amps — the choice is about how you want the heater to sit in the room.
