Does the EOS Gracil come with everything I need to use it?
The Gracil includes the heater, its brushed stainless top cover, the integrated stainless rock store, mounting feet (freestanding) or wall brackets (wall-mount), and the installation manual. Two items are required to operate it and are sold separately: an EOS control unit and sauna stones. Our specialists will spec both with your heater so nothing is missing at install.
Do I need a separate control unit, and which one?
Yes. Like all premium traditional heaters, the Gracil is run by a wall-mounted control that manages temperature, timing, and safety cutoff. It requires an EOS control — the EOS Touch 3 or the EOS EmoTec D. The control must be EOS-brand; it cannot be run on another manufacturer's controller.
Are sauna stones included?
No — stones are sold separately. The Gracil holds a full 44 lbs (20 kg) of stones, sized 2–4 inches (5–10 cm). We can add the correct stone set to your order so it arrives ready to install.
What size room does each output heat?
The 6 kW heats roughly 213–300 cu ft, the 7.5 kW covers about 280–420 cu ft, and the 9 kW handles approximately 313–494 cu ft. Room shape, insulation, and glass area affect sizing, so we confirm the right output for your specific room before you order.
What's the difference between the freestanding and wall-mount versions?
The freestanding Gracil stands on supporting feet and measures 19.9" W x 9.8" D x 29.9" H. The wall-mount version ships with mounting brackets and measures 19.9" W x 10.8" D x 29.1" H. Both share the same slim profile and full stone load — the choice comes down to your cabin layout.
Can I use the Gracil in a home sauna?
Yes. The 240V single-phase models run on a standard residential circuit, and the ultra-slim 9.8" depth makes the Gracil well suited to basement conversions, garden rooms, and compact indoor cabins.
Is the Gracil suitable for commercial use?
It is suitable for light-commercial rooms. The 208V three-phase configurations fit boutique fitness studios, wellness spaces, and gym sauna rooms, delivering up to 9 kW. For multi-room or multi-unit projects, our team provides dedicated commercial support and project pricing.
What electrical supply does it require?
The Gracil connects at 240V 2-phase or 208V 3-phase AC, 60 Hz. Circuit requirements by output: 6 kW needs 20A (208V) or 35A (240V); 7.5 kW needs 25A (208V) or 40A (240V); 9 kW needs 35A (208V) or 50A (240V). Your electrician will confirm the exact breaker and wire size against the nameplate.
Can I install it myself?
No. The Gracil is hardwired and must be connected by a licensed electrician in accordance with local codes. The heater is mounted (feet or wall brackets) and then wired to its EOS control unit.
Does it require a GFCI or RCD?
Follow the electrical codes in your area. If a residual current device (RCD/GFCI) is used, it must serve only the sauna system — no other equipment should share that device. Your electrician will handle this correctly.
What clearances does the heater need?
Minimum wall clearance is 0.6 ft (19 cm) for cabins under 2 x 2 m, or 1.2 ft (35 cm) for larger cabins. Because the Gracil is only 9.8" deep, it fits tighter spaces than a standard heater while still meeting safety distances.
What minimum ceiling height do I need?
The sauna cabin needs a minimum interior ceiling height of 6.2 ft (190 cm) for the Gracil.
What kind of floor can the heater sit on?
It must not be placed on easily flammable flooring such as laminate or synthetic flooring. Ceramic tile is the recommended flooring beneath and around the heater.
What makes the Gracil different from a standard sauna heater?
Its depth. At just 9.8 inches (25 cm), the Gracil is one of the slimmest traditional heaters made — yet it still carries a full 44 lb stone load. That means you get authentic Finnish heat without a bulky unit crowding a small room.
What finishes are available?
Two: matte black and stainless trim. Both feature a brushed stainless steel top cover for a clean, modern look.
What is the Gracil made of?
A steel body in matte black or stainless-trim finish, a brushed stainless steel top cover, and a stainless steel rock store and feet. It is designed and manufactured by EOS in Germany.
Does the sauna room need ventilation?
Yes. Air inlets and outlets must be installed in the cabin per the cabin manufacturer's guidance. Proper ventilation prevents overheating and ensures the heater warms the room efficiently — a slow heat-up is usually a sign of insufficient fresh air supply.
How hot does the sauna get?
The Gracil delivers traditional dry Finnish sauna heat, with the temperature set and limited by your EOS control unit. During operation, exterior cabin surfaces can reach up to about 169°F (76°C), so appropriate protection should be installed where required.
How long does it take to heat up?
Heat-up time depends on the output, room size, insulation, and ventilation. A correctly sized heater in a well-insulated, properly ventilated cabin reaches bathing temperature efficiently; if heat-up is slow, the most common cause is inadequate fresh air supply to the room.
Can I pour water on the stones?
Yes — the Gracil is a traditional Finnish heater built for löyly. Ladle water only onto the heated stones, never directly onto the heater housing or elements, and use clean water in moderate amounts for the best steam.
Which stones should I use, and can I buy them from you?
Use genuine sauna stones sized 2–4 inches (5–10 cm) — 44 lbs total for the Gracil. We stock EOS sauna stones and can add them to your order so the heater arrives complete.
Is a safety guard rail included?
A wooden safety guard rail is available as an optional accessory (with mounting brackets) to prevent accidental contact with the hot heater. We can include it with your order if you'd like it.
What warranty does the Gracil carry?
The Gracil is backed by EOS's manufacturer warranty (1-year limited). As an authorized EOS dealer, we handle warranty support directly with you.
Where is the Gracil made?
The Gracil is designed and manufactured by EOS in Germany.
How is it shipped, and what's the lead time?
Shipping is calculated at checkout. Because EOS heaters are built to order, lead times can vary by configuration — our specialists will confirm the current timeline for your chosen output, voltage, finish, and mount when you request pricing.

How Freight Delivery Works
Large items (saunas, cold plunges, hot tubs) ship via LTL freight. Smaller items (heaters, accessories, wellness devices, Lumaflex, red light towers) ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS.
1. We ship your order. Tracking is emailed to you with the estimated delivery timeline.
2. The carrier calls you. The freight company calls to schedule your delivery appointment. You pick the date and time window.
3. Curbside delivery. Delivery is to the curb via semi-truck with liftgate (when available). You'll need a plan to move it from the curb to its final location.
4. Sign and inspect. You must be present to sign. Inspect for damage before signing — note any issues on the delivery receipt.
Unloading Your Sauna
The driver delivers to the curb only. You are responsible for moving the product to its final location. Have equipment and help arranged before delivery day.
Rent a forklift — Most common choice. Requires forklift extensions. ~$150–300/day.
Hire a tilt tow truck — Flatbed tow with tilt/slide functionality. ~$200–400.
Hire a rigging/moving crew — Professional movers with equipment. Get quotes in advance.
Tilt tow service (Dundalk only) — Available for $750. Contact us to add to your order.
Clearlight saunas ship in flat panels, not pre-assembled crates. Most can be carried inside by two people without heavy equipment. Dundalk saunas ship in crates exceeding 92" and 800–1,600 lbs — liftgate service is not available for these shipments.
Damage Claims
If your order arrives damaged, we'll get you a replacement as quickly as possible.
1. Inspect packaging for visible damage before signing.
2. Note damage on the delivery receipt — write "damaged" and have the driver sign.
3. Take photos of packaging and product damage.
4. Email photos to info@thesaunarepublic.com with your order number within 24 hours.
5. We file the claim and ship your replacement.
Damage must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with photos. Claims filed after 24 hours may not be eligible for a free replacement. Always note visible damage on the delivery receipt — even if it seems minor.

Warranty
Most AC-powered mats and controllers carry a 5-Year Limited Warranty. Other products typically carry a 1-year warranty.

Dundalk Canadian Timber
All Sales Final — No Returns
All Dundalk products (saunas, cold plunges, accessories) are handcrafted to order in Ontario, Canada. Returns and refunds are not available. Full manufacturer warranty applies for defects.
Cancellation
Within 14 days of order — full refund, no fee.
After 14 days — $65 cancellation fee applies.
Once production begins — cannot be cancelled (typically 2+ weeks after order).
Backorder Cancellation
Orders containing backordered items are subject to a 6% cancellation fee as we are charged by our payment processor when backorders are cancelled. All lead times are estimates and subject to change.
HSA/FSA Purchases
Our standard return policy applies to all HSA/FSA purchases. Products with brand-specific exceptions follow those policies. There is no IRS requirement that HSA/FSA purchases be final sale.
HSA/FSA refunds are processed back to your original HSA/FSA card within 3–10 business days. Truemed cannot redirect refunds to a different payment method.
HSA holders: Notify your custodian to treat the original purchase as a "mistaken distribution" under IRS Notice 2004-50. Returned funds are not subject to income tax or penalties.
FSA holders: The refund goes back to your FSA plan via the original card. If your plan year has ended, the use-it-or-lose-it rule may apply. FSA holders should be especially sure of their purchase before buying.
Damage Claims
If your order arrives damaged, we will resolve it as quickly as possible.
