What makes the Cubo Avantgarde different from other sauna heaters?
It's the design piece of the EOS line. Finished in matte black on all four sides and the top, and topped with a rock-store extension frame set with white quartz stones, it's built to be seen — placed in the center of the room or in front of a glass panel rather than hidden in a corner.
Does it come with sauna stones?
Yes — and this is unusual for a premium heater. The Cubo Avantgarde ships with its stones included: approximately 55 lbs of classic sauna stones plus 22 lbs of decorative white quartz stones, up to 77 lbs of total stone mass.
What are the white quartz stones for?
They're decorative and functional. The white quartz sits in the raised extension frame for a striking light-against-black contrast, while adding to the heater's thermal mass for soft, long-holding heat.
Can it be installed in the middle of the room or in front of glass?
Yes — that's what it's designed for. Because it's finished identically on all sides and the top, it looks intentional from every angle, making it ideal for center-of-room placement or installation in front of a glass wall.
Do I need a separate control unit, and which one?
Yes. The Cubo Avantgarde is run by a wall-mounted control that manages temperature, timing, and safety cutoff. It requires an EOS control — the EOS Touch 3 or the EOS EmoTec D. The control must be EOS-brand; it cannot run on another manufacturer's controller.
What outputs does it come in, and what room size does each heat?
Four outputs: 7.5 kW heats roughly 247–353 cu ft, 9 kW covers about 314–494 cu ft, 10.5 kW handles 387–527 cu ft, and 12 kW reaches 494–634 cu ft. We confirm the right output for your specific room before you order.
What finishes are available?
The Cubo Avantgarde comes in one finish — luxurious matte black on all sides and the top, with a scratch-resistant powder coat.
Can I use it in a home sauna?
Yes. The 240V single-phase models (7.5 and 9 kW) run on a standard residential circuit and make a striking centerpiece in a design-led home cabin, especially a glass-fronted build.
Is it suitable for commercial use?
Yes. The 208V three-phase configurations reach up to 12 kW for rooms up to roughly 634 cu ft, making it well suited to boutique spas, hotels, and wellness studios that want a heater that doubles as a design feature. We provide project pricing and support for multi-room installs.
What electrical supply does it need?
The Cubo Avantgarde connects at 240V 2-phase (7.5 and 9 kW) or 208V 3-phase (7.5, 9, 10.5, and 12 kW) AC, 60 Hz, using a minimum 12 AWG copper connection. The 10.5 and 12 kW outputs are 208V three-phase only. Your electrician will size the breaker to the heater's nameplate rating.
Can I install it myself?
No. The Cubo Avantgarde is hardwired and must be connected by a licensed electrician in accordance with local codes, then wired to its EOS control unit.
Does it require a GFCI or RCD?
Follow the electrical codes in your area. If a residual current device (RCD/GFCI) is used, it must serve only the sauna system — no other equipment should share that device. Your electrician will handle this.
What clearances does it need?
Minimum wall clearance is 2.4" (6 cm). For center-of-room or glass-front placement, your installer will confirm clearances on all exposed sides and to the ceiling.
What minimum ceiling height do I need?
The sauna cabin needs a minimum interior ceiling height of 190 cm (approximately 6.2 ft).
How big is the heater, and how much does it weigh?
It measures 28.3" H x 15.7" W x 15.2" D (72 x 40 x 38.5 cm) and weighs approximately 62 lbs without stones. Its compact 15.2" depth gives it a bold presence without a large footprint.
What kind of floor can it sit on?
It must not be placed on easily flammable flooring such as laminate or synthetic flooring. Ceramic tile is the recommended flooring beneath and around the heater.
Does the sauna room need ventilation?
Yes. Air inlets and outlets must be installed in the cabin per the cabin manufacturer's guidance. Proper ventilation prevents overheating and helps the heater warm the room efficiently.
How hot does the sauna get?
The Cubo Avantgarde delivers traditional dry Finnish sauna heat, set and limited by your EOS control unit. During operation, exterior cabin surfaces can reach up to about 169°F (76°C), so appropriate protection should be installed where required.
Can I pour water on the stones?
Yes — the Cubo Avantgarde is a traditional Finnish heater. Ladle water only onto the heated stones, never directly onto the heater body, and use clean water in moderate amounts for the best steam.
Is a safety guard rail available?
Yes. A 4-sided safety guard rail (with mounting brackets) is available as an optional accessory — particularly worth considering for center-of-room or glass-front installations where the heater is exposed on all sides. We can include it with your order.
What is the Cubo Avantgarde made of?
Scratch-resistant matte black powder-coated steel on all sides and the top, a stainless steel rock store mounted above the heating elements, and a matte-black stainless extension frame. It is designed and manufactured by EOS in Germany.
What accessories pair well with it?
Beyond the required EOS control, popular pairings include a 4-sided safety guard rail, an aromatherapy infusion vessel, a climate station (thermometer and hygrometer), and a bucket-and-ladle set. Stones are already included. Ask us about bundled pricing.
What warranty does it carry?
The Cubo Avantgarde is backed by EOS's manufacturer warranty (1-year limited). As an authorized EOS dealer, we handle warranty support directly with you.

How Freight Delivery Works
Large items (saunas, cold plunges, hot tubs) ship via LTL freight. Smaller items (heaters, accessories, wellness devices, Lumaflex, red light towers) ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS.
1. We ship your order. Tracking is emailed to you with the estimated delivery timeline.
2. The carrier calls you. The freight company calls to schedule your delivery appointment. You pick the date and time window.
3. Curbside delivery. Delivery is to the curb via semi-truck with liftgate (when available). You'll need a plan to move it from the curb to its final location.
4. Sign and inspect. You must be present to sign. Inspect for damage before signing — note any issues on the delivery receipt.
Unloading Your Sauna
The driver delivers to the curb only. You are responsible for moving the product to its final location. Have equipment and help arranged before delivery day.
Rent a forklift — Most common choice. Requires forklift extensions. ~$150–300/day.
Hire a tilt tow truck — Flatbed tow with tilt/slide functionality. ~$200–400.
Hire a rigging/moving crew — Professional movers with equipment. Get quotes in advance.
Tilt tow service (Dundalk only) — Available for $750. Contact us to add to your order.
Clearlight saunas ship in flat panels, not pre-assembled crates. Most can be carried inside by two people without heavy equipment. Dundalk saunas ship in crates exceeding 92" and 800–1,600 lbs — liftgate service is not available for these shipments.
Damage Claims
If your order arrives damaged, we'll get you a replacement as quickly as possible.
1. Inspect packaging for visible damage before signing.
2. Note damage on the delivery receipt — write "damaged" and have the driver sign.
3. Take photos of packaging and product damage.
4. Email photos to info@thesaunarepublic.com with your order number within 24 hours.
5. We file the claim and ship your replacement.
Damage must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with photos. Claims filed after 24 hours may not be eligible for a free replacement. Always note visible damage on the delivery receipt — even if it seems minor.

Warranty
Most AC-powered mats and controllers carry a 5-Year Limited Warranty. Other products typically carry a 1-year warranty.

Dundalk Canadian Timber
All Sales Final — No Returns
All Dundalk products (saunas, cold plunges, accessories) are handcrafted to order in Ontario, Canada. Returns and refunds are not available. Full manufacturer warranty applies for defects.
Cancellation
Within 14 days of order — full refund, no fee.
After 14 days — $65 cancellation fee applies.
Once production begins — cannot be cancelled (typically 2+ weeks after order).
Backorder Cancellation
Orders containing backordered items are subject to a 6% cancellation fee as we are charged by our payment processor when backorders are cancelled. All lead times are estimates and subject to change.
HSA/FSA Purchases
Our standard return policy applies to all HSA/FSA purchases. Products with brand-specific exceptions follow those policies. There is no IRS requirement that HSA/FSA purchases be final sale.
HSA/FSA refunds are processed back to your original HSA/FSA card within 3–10 business days. Truemed cannot redirect refunds to a different payment method.
HSA holders: Notify your custodian to treat the original purchase as a "mistaken distribution" under IRS Notice 2004-50. Returned funds are not subject to income tax or penalties.
FSA holders: The refund goes back to your FSA plan via the original card. If your plan year has ended, the use-it-or-lose-it rule may apply. FSA holders should be especially sure of their purchase before buying.
Damage Claims
If your order arrives damaged, we will resolve it as quickly as possible.

All returns require prior authorization. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted. Refunds processed to original payment method within 5–7 business days (HealthyLine returns within 5–10 business days after inspection). HSA/FSA refunds go back to the original HSA/FSA card within 3–10 business days.
