What are the dimensions?
48" wide, 18" deep, 16½" high. The seat height is 16½", which is bench height rather than chair height — low enough to keep sightlines open in a small space.
How many people does it seat?
Two comfortably.
Why backless?
The seat curves symmetrically with its low point dead centre, so it's comfortable facing either direction. In a real space that matters — a backed bench forces one orientation and blocks sightlines, which is a problem against a wall, on a narrow deck, or in a changing area with traffic on both sides.
Is it comfortable without a back?
For the job it's doing, yes. This is a staging bench — somewhere to pull boots off, sit for a few minutes between rounds, set a towel down. It's not built for an hour of lounging. If that's what you want, a reclining steamer chair is the better piece.
Does it need assembly?
Yes, light assembly with basic tools. This is the one Anderson piece in our range that isn't ready to use out of the box. The components arrive pre-finished with the joinery cut, so it's straightforward, but plan a few minutes for it.
What is it made of?
Grade-A solid teak (Tectona grandis), sanded smooth and left completely unfinished — no sealer, no varnish, no oil applied.
Why unfinished?
Teak's durability comes from oil in the wood itself, not from a coating. Leaving it bare means nothing on the surface to break down, chalk, or reapply — and it handles the wet-dry cycling of a sauna and plunge in the same space without a finish to fail.
Can I put it inside my sauna?
We don't recommend it. Teak is dense and conducts heat well, so at sauna temperatures it runs hotter against skin than the cedar, hemlock, and aspen that sauna benches are built from. This belongs outside the hot room — changing area, deck, plunge side.
Where should I put it?
Outside the sauna door, in the changing area, along a plunge deck, or on a patio. Anywhere the routine needs a staging point — somewhere to leave a towel, sit between rounds, and put shoes on.
Can I use it indoors?
Yes — Anderson rates it for both. The non-marking plastic feet protect finished floors, so it works in an indoor changing room or mudroom as readily as on a deck.
Will it blow over in wind?
No. Anderson builds it heavy deliberately and rates it as a commercial bench — the weight is what keeps it in place outdoors and stops it shifting when someone sits down hard.
Will it scratch my deck or floor?
No. It sits on non-marking plastic feet, so the wood never contacts the surface directly.
Does it come with a cushion?
No. Sunbrella all-weather seat cushions are available in a range of colors, but they're made to order rather than stocked and are quoted separately. Call (302) 273-0861 and we'll go through options and lead time.
Will the teak stain a cushion?
It can. Teak releases natural oils that mark lighter fabrics. Wipe the frame down before fitting a cushion, and repeat occasionally through the first season while the wood is releasing most freely.
Can it stay outside year-round?
Yes. Teak handles rain, sun, and freeze cycles without structural damage. It will change color, which is covered below.
Will the color change?
Outdoors, yes — unfinished teak weathers from honey golden brown to a silver-grey patina over a few months of sun exposure. It's a surface effect only and doesn't weaken the wood.
How do I keep the original color?
Clean it occasionally with mild soap and water, and apply teak oil or sealer periodically. Letting it grey out is equally valid — plenty of people prefer the weathered look, and longevity is the same either way.
How do I clean it?
Mild soap and water with a soft brush, scrubbing along the grain. Rinse and let it air-dry. Don't pressure wash — it raises the grain and erodes the softer wood between the harder rings.
Will it get moldy?
Teak's natural oils resist rot, mildew, and insects better than almost any other wood. Problems come from pieces stored damp with no airflow, so let it dry before covering or storing it for the season.
Are small cracks in the wood a defect?
Fine cracks in the end grain are normal in solid teak and are specifically excluded from the warranty. Solid wood moves with humidity and temperature — that's the trade-off for real timber over a composite. They don't affect strength or lifespan.
What does the warranty cover?
Two years, covering manufacturing defects and workmanship. Small end-grain cracks are excluded.
Can I use it in a commercial space?
Yes — Anderson rates it as a heavy-duty commercial bench, and spa changing rooms, gym locker areas, and hotel pool decks are natural placements.
Do you handle multi-unit orders?
Yes. We work with spas, hotels, gyms, and wellness studios on volume orders with project support and repeat-order scheduling. Call (302) 273-0861 and ask for project support.
Where is it made?
Indonesia. Anderson Teak manufactures its own furniture rather than sourcing from third parties.
What should I pair it with?
A teak shower mat for the wet zone between the sauna and the bench, so water isn't tracked across the deck. A reclining steamer chair if you want somewhere to actually lie back during the cool-down. And towels heavy enough for coming out of cold water.

Ground processing — Please allow 3–4 business days for ground orders to be processed before they ship.
Order cut-off — Orders placed after 8:00 AM EST are processed the next business day.
Monogrammed items — Allow an additional 3–5 business days of processing time. This applies to expedited orders as well.
PO Boxes, APO & FPO — Textile orders cannot be shipped to PO Boxes or to APO/FPO military addresses. Please provide a street address at checkout.
Mixed orders — If your order includes a sauna, cold plunge, heater, or accessory, the whole order ships free regardless of the textile subtotal.
Textile orders ship separately from sauna and cold plunge shipments and may arrive on a different date, even when purchased together.
How Freight Delivery Works
Large items (saunas, cold plunges, hot tubs) ship via LTL freight. Smaller items (heaters, accessories, wellness devices, Lumaflex, red light towers, robes and textiles) ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS.
1. We ship your order. Tracking is emailed to you with the estimated delivery timeline.
2. The carrier calls you. The freight company calls to schedule your delivery appointment. You pick the date and time window.
3. Curbside delivery. Delivery is to the curb via semi-truck with liftgate (when available). You'll need a plan to move it from the curb to its final location.
4. Sign and inspect. You must be present to sign. Inspect for damage before signing — note any issues on the delivery receipt.
Unloading Your Sauna
The driver delivers to the curb only. You are responsible for moving the product to its final location. Have equipment and help arranged before delivery day.
Rent a forklift — Most common choice. Requires forklift extensions. ~$150–300/day.
Hire a tilt tow truck — Flatbed tow with tilt/slide functionality. ~$200–400.
Hire a rigging/moving crew — Professional movers with equipment. Get quotes in advance.
Tilt tow service (Dundalk only) — Available for $750. Contact us to add to your order.
Clearlight saunas ship in flat panels, not pre-assembled crates. Most can be carried inside by two people without heavy equipment. Dundalk saunas ship in crates exceeding 92" and 800–1,600 lbs — liftgate service is not available for these shipments.
Damage Claims
If your order arrives damaged, we'll get you a replacement as quickly as possible.
1. Inspect packaging for visible damage before signing.
2. Note damage on the delivery receipt — write "damaged" and have the driver sign.
3. Take photos of packaging and product damage.
4. Email photos to info@thesaunarepublic.com with your order number within 24 hours.
5. We file the claim and ship your replacement.
Damage must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with photos. Claims filed after 24 hours may not be eligible for a free replacement. Always note visible damage on the delivery receipt — even if it seems minor.

Once large items ship, we cannot change addresses or schedule specific delivery dates. If an item is returned due to an incorrect address, you're responsible for shipping costs both ways. If freight delivery fails because the carrier couldn't access your property, it's treated as a return per our return policy.

Defective Products

If a product arrives damaged, defective, or non-working, replacement and shipping are covered at no cost. If damage is caused by improper use, the customer is responsible for the replacement and shipping.
Warranty
Most AC-powered mats and controllers carry a 5-Year Limited Warranty. Other products typically carry a 1-year warranty.

Dundalk Canadian Timber
All Sales Final — No Returns
All Dundalk products (saunas, cold plunges, accessories) are handcrafted to order in Ontario, Canada. Returns and refunds are not available. Full manufacturer warranty applies for defects.
Cancellation
Within 14 days of order — full refund, no fee.
After 14 days — $65 cancellation fee applies.
Once production begins — cannot be cancelled (typically 2+ weeks after order).
Backorder Cancellation
Orders containing backordered items are subject to a 6% cancellation fee as we are charged by our payment processor when backorders are cancelled. All lead times are estimates and subject to change.
HSA/FSA Purchases
Our standard return policy applies to all HSA/FSA purchases. Products with brand-specific exceptions follow those policies. There is no IRS requirement that HSA/FSA purchases be final sale.
HSA/FSA refunds are processed back to your original HSA/FSA card within 3–10 business days. Truemed cannot redirect refunds to a different payment method.
HSA holders: Notify your custodian to treat the original purchase as a "mistaken distribution" under IRS Notice 2004-50. Returned funds are not subject to income tax or penalties.
FSA holders: The refund goes back to your FSA plan via the original card. If your plan year has ended, the use-it-or-lose-it rule may apply. FSA holders should be especially sure of their purchase before buying.
Damage Claims
If your order arrives damaged, we will resolve it as quickly as possible.

4. Refund within 5–10 business days after the item is received and inspected. No restocking fee unless the item is returned damaged, stained, or with an odor (20–50%).
Warranty claims are filed directly with HealthyLine. Clearance, final-sale, and used bedding items are non-returnable.
Fine Print
