How Freight Delivery Works
Large items (saunas, cold plunges, hot tubs, large wood orders) ship via LTL freight. This is different from standard UPS/FedEx delivery — here's what to expect:
We Ship to Local Terminal
Your tracking shows ETA to the freight company's local warehouse (not your door).
Carrier Calls You
The freight company calls to schedule your delivery appointment. You pick the date/time.
Curbside Delivery
Delivery is to the curb via semi-truck with liftgate (when available). You'll need a plan to move it.
Sign & Inspect
You must be present to sign. Inspect for damage before signing — note any issues on the delivery receipt.
Dundalk Canadian Timber Saunas
⚠️ Special Delivery Requirements
Due to their size (crates often exceed 92" and 800-1,600 lbs), Dundalk saunas require special unloading equipment. Liftgate service is NOT available for these shipments.
Delivery Method: 18-wheel flatbed truck delivers curbside (not into your driveway). The trucking company is not responsible for unloading.
Dundalk-Specific Policies:
• Address changes after shipping: $250 fee
• Storage fees: May apply if delivery appointment is delayed beyond terminal holding period
• Cancellations: Free within 14 days of order · $65 fee after 14 days
Unloading Your Sauna

The driver delivers to the curb only. Have equipment and/or help arranged BEFORE delivery day.

Option 1: Rent a Forklift
Most common choice. Requires forklift extensions to lift from the crate's end. Rental ~$150-300/day.
Option 2: Hire a Tilt Tow Truck
Some customers use flatbed tow trucks with tilt/slide functionality. ~$200-400.
Option 3: Hire a Rigging/Moving Crew
Professional movers with equipment. Get quotes in advance.
Option 4: Tilt Tow Service (Dundalk)
Available through Dundalk for $750. Contact us to add to your order.
Damage Claims

⚠️ Lumaflex Damage Claims
If your Lumaflex device arrives damaged, email info@thesaunarepublic.com with photos within 24 hours and we will arrange a replacement for you. The $250 Damage-Free Delivery Guarantee does not apply to Lumaflex orders.
How to File a Claim:
1. Inspect on arrival — Check packaging for visible damage before signing
2. Note damage on delivery receipt — Write "damaged" and sign
3. Take photos — Document packaging and product damage
4. Email us within 24 hours — Send photos to info@thesaunarepublic.com
5. We handle the rest — Replacement ships immediately + $250 cash processed
Carrier Selection & Address Info
Small items (heaters, accessories, replacement parts) ship via UPS or FedEx. We reserve the right to choose the carrier.
Large items ship via LTL freight carriers. Once shipped, we cannot change addresses or schedule specific delivery dates — but we'll advocate on your behalf with the shipping company if needed.
Lumaflex devices ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS.
Incorrect Address / Failed Delivery
If an item is returned due to an incorrect address, you're responsible for shipping costs both ways. If freight delivery fails because the carrier couldn't access your property, it's treated as a return per our return policy.

Backorder Cancellation Policy
⚠️ 6% Cancellation Fee on Backordered Items
Backordered items are defined as ordered items that are not currently in stock and where you have agreed to wait the estimated lead time. All orders containing backordered items are subject to a 6% fee as we are charged a fee by our payment processor when backorders are cancelled.

HSA/FSA Purchases — Return Policy
Our standard return policy applies to all HSA/FSA purchases.
HSA/FSA orders follow the same guarantee tier as the product — whether that's our 100% Money-Back Guarantee, Lumaflex 30-Day Return, or Standard Return Policy. There is no IRS requirement that HSA/FSA purchases be final sale.
How HSA/FSA refunds work: Refunds are processed back to your original HSA/FSA card within 3–10 business days. Truemed cannot redirect refunds to a different payment method.
HSA holders: Once the refund posts, you can notify your HSA custodian to treat the original purchase as a "mistaken distribution" under IRS Notice 2004-50. Returned funds are not subject to income tax or penalties.
FSA holders: The refund goes back to your FSA plan via the original card. If your plan year has ended, the use-it-or-lose-it rule may apply — returned funds could be forfeited to the employer plan. FSA holders should be especially sure of their purchase before buying.
